World Menstrual Hygiene Day – Drop In Advice Session

Ladies – come down for a drop in chat, advice and pad making session as part of World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

WMHD helps to break the silence and build awareness about the fundamental role that good menstrual hygiene plays in enabling women and girls to reach their full potential.

In the session there will be a reusable pad making session (hand sewn), mooncup advice, alternatives to disposable pads on sale and an opportunity to learn about international menstruation issues.

Free entry and refreshments provided.

Penllergare Evening Walk
May 24 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

A walk and talk about the restoration project and the wildlife of Penllergare. Wear sturdy footwear and be aware of uneven and slippery surfaces. Dogs to be kept on a short lead. Access for disabled people, wheelchairs and pushchairs is limited. Donations welcomed.

Ticket prices: £5 Adults, £4 Children (Age 6 +) , Group Ticket £16 (for 4 individuals on the same session).  Car parking charge applies. Please arrive on time for your specific time slot, allow 10 minutes to walk from the main Car Park to Treehugger in the castle.

TreeHugger lets you experience the breath-taking beauty of the worlds most impressive tree, the Giant Sequoia of California.

Put on a virtual reality headset, place your head into the trees knot and be transported to the Sequoia’s secret inner world.

Discover the tree’s hidden inner structure:

  • grooves in the bark become giant cliffs,
  • pinecones feel like cathedrals.

Continue hugging and you are sucked into ‘tree time’, follow the journey of a single drop of water as it moves from root to canopy.

Downy Duckling Experience

Spring is a wonderful time to visit the newly hatched fluffy ducklings in the nursery which will be open for exclusive behind-thescenes tours at 12noon, 2pm and 3pm. Booking can only be made at the centre on the day. Usual admission price applies.

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

If you go down in the woods today, take along a picnic – and a teddy! The teddy bears are frolicking in Llys Nini ready for a tea party and everyone is invited
