Environment Centre Projects

The Environment Centre manages and supports a number of outreach projects each year. These include community engagement and schools activities and are usually in partnership with other local or national organisations. For example, the Centre has supported local festivals and major public exhibitions such as Earth from the Air, organised an award scheme for schools, and even managed a community fridge swap scheme.

Our current outreach projects include:

Swansea #InTheLoop – a new campaign to promote recycling on-the-go in Swansea city centre in partnership with Swansea Council’s Recycling Team and the London-based charity, Hubbub – read more.

Eastside Schools Project – with funding from the community wind turbine on Swansea Docks, the Centre has been supporting environmental education work in seven primary schools around Kilvey Hill.

Green Fayre – our popular annual event held at the National Waterfront Museum, usually on the last full weekend of November, has around 80 stalls with an environmental link and usually a programme of workshops, demonstrations, film screenings and live performances- read more.
