How To Find Us

The Environment Centre is situated on Pier Street, close to the town centre in Swansea’s Maritime Quarter, SA1 1RY. Pier Street is a cul-de-sac located around the corner from Morgan’s Hotel on Adelaide Street. Look out for the blue sign pointing you between the hotel and the old Evening Post building (now Travel House).

Arriving by Public Transport

The Environment Centre is 15 minutes walk from Swansea Railway Station, 10 minutes from the Quadrant Bus Station and 5 minutes from the City Centre.

Finding us on foot

From a bus

From the Quadrant Bus Station take the exit passing Tesco (toward the sea front). Cross Oystermouth Rd and turn left passing the LC and National Waterfront Museum. Turn right at Swansea Museum, left onto Adelaide St and right onto Pier St.

We are 2 minutes’ walk from the 502 bus stop on Fabian Way.

From a train

From Swansea train station head left onto High St, going straight on down Castle Street and Wind St, then cross Oystermouth Rd at the pedestrian crossing. Turn right in front of Morgans Hotel then left onto Pier Street.

Arriving by Bicycle

If travelling by bicycle, the Centre can be reached via National Route 4 or 43 on the Celtic Trail. There is a Santander Cycle Hire service operating in Swansea, the nearest docking station to the Environment Centre is at the National Waterfront Museum, for more information visit https://www.santandercycles.co.uk/swansea

Cycle racks are provided at the rear of the Environment Centre.

Arriving by Car – getting directly to the Environment Centre

If travelling from the M4 take junction 42 on to Fabian Way (A483) heading toward Swansea. Go straight over the River Tawe bridge on to Quay Parade.

Turn left just after Sainsbury’s on to Somerset Place. Turn immediately right on to Adelaide Street and then left after Morgans Hotel on to Pier Street. The Environment Centre is on the left hand side at the end of Pier Street.

Parking

  • several free 3 hour spaces on the street directly outside the Centre building
  • plenty of free 1–3 hour bays on neighbouring streets
  • free parking for 3 – 4 hrs at Parc Tawe (opposite Sainsburys)
  • a pay and display car park is on East Burrows Road at the end of Somerset Place (next to the Dylan Thomas Centre). This is currently £1.20 per hour or £7.00 per day (Mon – Sat). From this car park, cross the road and go through the pedestrian archway to get to the Environment Centre.

Park and Ride services operate from Fabian Way or Landore to the town centre Mon – Sat until 7.30pm at a very reasonable price, please visit www.swansea.gov.uk and go to the Transport and Streets section for prices and information.
