New Products In Our Green Shop

The Environment Centre has a Green Shop supported by volunteers, its focus is on reusable, refillable and plastic-free products. Our shop is a great awareness-raising tool, enabling the local community to reduce waste and empower them to make eco-friendly purchasing choices, whilst supporting a local charity at the same time.

Our most popular section by far is the handy Ecover, BioD and Suma Self Service Refill Station, where a range of cleaning products including washing up liquid, fabric softener, all purpose cleaner, laundry liquid, toilet cleaner, hand soap and even shampoo and conditioner can be refilled. Just bring in an empty bottle to fill up, it’s very easy and simple to use.

We also have some great new products in stock, firstly F.E.T.E bamboo toothbrushes. A lot of people may not be aware that every plastic toothbrush ever made still exists in landfill sites today. Just a small change in our lifestyle, like using a biodegradable alternative, will make a big difference to our environment. We have a range of colours and both adult and children’s sizes.

We listen to feedback from our supporters, and realised there was a demand for collabsible reusable cups. Although our E-Coffee Cup range is very popular, they can be awkward to carry around on a daily basis particularly if you don’t carry a large bag or rucksack. Now we have the answer! The new Pokito cups have a combination of solid and silicone material, so they can squash down to fit into a smaller handbag or coat pocket – perfect for using on a daily basis around town, if you’re out walking or cycling, or if you’re travelling. We think they’re a great addition to our shop and it will enable people to cut out single-use coffee cup waste.

The Green Shop is open 10 – 4 Monday  – Friday, and 10 – 2 Saturday. Our shop can only be kept open with the support of our wonderful team of volunteers, if you’re interested in helping out please contact (01792) 480200 or email
